The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Coat of Arms were unveiled on the 7th of December 1964.
The Latin motto ‘Petimus, Docemus, Curamus’ which means ‘We Seek, We Teach, We Heal’, was submitted by Mr MJ Neagle, a clerk in the Outpatient Department, his submission was chosen as the motto after a hospital wide competition.
