About this objectMember of the Order of Australia (AM) Insignia. Order of Australia Member insignia appointed to Alison Kinsman. Alison was the Director of Physiotherapy at the Royal Adelaide Hospital from 1966-1986.
The object consists of a white cardboard box with gold letter on the lid and side that reads: "A.M." and "A.M. Gen Div". Inside is a leather case with gold coloured fittings and gold "A.M." on the top. Inside the case is the insignia set on a navy velvet mount. This can be lifted up, to reveal a storage compartment. Inside this compartment are various pins and lapel badges. The main insignia are mounted in the bow and tails style, which was awarded to the female recipients of the award. This includes the major piece, miniature medal, ribbon bar and lapel badge. the Major piece is inscribed with 'Alison Joan Kinsman'. Inside the white box are two instructional leaflets, 'Caring for your insignia' and 'Conversion to Bow Style Mounting - AM'.
